100BASE-TX
100BASE-TX is one of the standards of Fast Ethernet. It is standardized as IEEE 802.3u. It is a star formed LAN that connect each machines through a hub, using a twisted pair cable (UTP category 5) as a cable. The transmission speed is 100Mbps and the maximum transmission distance is up to 100m. The number of stages of hub connection is up to 2 stages. Many machines for 100BASE-TX have compatibility with 10BASE-T, and can be mixed in one network.
