BIOS parameter block (BPB) is a description about the attribute of the disk. It is embedded within the boot block (Volume Boot Record) of a disc volume (hard disk or floppy).
BIOS Parameter Block describes the file system format and provides information about physical attribute of the disk and layout of the on-disc data structures for that file system. File systems with a BIOS parameter block include FAT16, FAT32, HPFS, and NTFS.
