CAUCE is an acronym for Coalition Against Unsolicited Commercial Email. It is a non-profit advocacy group that works to reduce the amount of unsolicited commercial email, or spam, via legislation.
CAUCE was founded in 1997. The CAUCE organizations created an international parent group, the simply-named CAUCE International (iCAUCE) in 2002 and vested ownership of the CAUCE name and the power to designate new national and trans-national organizations with iCAUCE. The original CAUCE US and CAUCE Canada combine their strengths of the two sibling CAUCE organizations and formed CAUCE North America in March 2007.
