Centrino is a technology package introduced in March 2003 by Intel. Centrino Mobile Technology is a combination of CPU, motherboard chipset and wireless network connection. Centrino is a platform design for laptop personal computer.

The Centrino package currently consists of a Pentium M processor, the Mobile Intel 915 Express chipset family and an Intel PRO/Wireless network connection.

To have Centrino label, vendors must use all three Intel qualified parts for laptop, otherwise using only the processor and chipset will carry the Intel Core label instead. Carmel is the code name used by Intel for the first-generation Centrino platforms.
