An input method editor (IME) is an operating system component or a program that allows computer users to enter characters and symbols not found on their keyboard. Some East Asian languages contains thousands of characters which makes the using a one-to-one character to keyboard key model next to impossible. To address this operating systems and other software venders have create several Input Method Editors (IME).
These Input Method Editors allows the user of a Western keyboard to input Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Indic characters.
