The Organic Pin Grid Array is a type of Pin Grid Array (PGA). The PGA is a packaging methodology for integrated circuits (IC). In Pin Grid Array connecting pins are located on the bottom in concentric squares.
In Organic Pin Grid Array, silicon die is attached to a slab of an organic plastic which is pierced by an array of pins which make the requisite connections to the socket. A popular type of CPUs that employ the OPGA is the AMD Athlon XP.
