Opera 【Opera Internet suite】
Opera is a proprietary cross-platform web browser and Internet suite developed by Opera Software based in Oslo, Norway. Opera Internet suite handles common Internet-related tasks including visiting web sites, sending and receiving e-mail messages, managing contacts, viewing Widgets, chatting online, reading News feeds, etc.
Opera started in as a research project at Telenor, a Norwegian telecommunications company. Later it branched out into an independent company named Opera Software ASA. First public release of Opera is version 2.0, first released in 1996. As of 2007 Opera 9 is the latest version.
