Pay-per-click is an advertising technique used on websites where an advertiser pays an agreed amount for each click someone makes on a link leading to their web site. The advertiser has typically a small textual ad on a search engine site and pays only if a user clicks on the link in the ad. Many search engines, including Google, Yahoo, AOL and MSN, offer this form of advertising. Ads are served based on keywords or themes.
