Resolution

Resolution is a unit to indicate the fineness or smoothness of devices, such as ability to display, ability to print, or ability to scan. The unit is represented by the number of dots used to represent as an aggregate. The higher the number is, the more natural the quality of the picture is. The lower the resolution is, aliasing called "jaggy" appears in pictures or characters. In the case of display, the unit is represented by the number of dots in the screen. In the case of printer or scanner, the unit is expressed by the number of dots per inch, which is called dpi.
