XDR DRAM
full spelling : Extreme Data Rate Dynamic Random Access Memory
Extreme Data Rate Dynamic Random Access Memory or XDR DRAM is a high-performance memory technology by Rambus. XDR DRAM capable of 4.0 GHz data rates which can provide up to 8 GB/s bandwidth with a single 2-byte-wide device. XDR DRAM was designed for high-bandwidth consumer systems, high-performance memory applications, and high-end graphics processing units.
XDR DRAM is a key component of the Rambus XDR memory architecture. XDR DRAM is based on Rambus RDRAM technology. The major competitors of XDR DRAM include Synchronous and Double-Data-Rate (DDR) DRAM.
