Integrated Digital Enhanced Network is a wireless communications technology, developed by Motorola. iDEN operates in the 800 MHz, 900MHz, and 1.5 GHz bands and is based on time division multiple access (TDMA) and GSM architecture.
Integrated Digital Enhanced Network combines two-way radio, telephone, text messaging and data transmission into one network. iDEN supports either three or six interconnect users (phone users) per channel, and either six or twelve dispatch users (push-to-talk users) per channel. iDEN is designed by Motorola Inc, to give the mobile user quick access to information without having to carry around several devices.
